The only Selmer serial number chart I could find on the ConnSelmerBundy site was for saxophones.Casual web surfing confirmed what I suspected: that its an intro-student-level instrument that may be utter crap, may be a decent player.But Ive got so little in it that I dont mind much if it is crap.

Bundy Flute Lookup Series Bundy YourIf you give them the information that you have, they should be able to give you a date of manufacture and which series Bundy your flute is. They used a wood case usually with a tweed pattern in the 50s, a blue covering in the 60s, Green plastic case in the early 70s and then to a black plastic case by the late 70s. The Series: is the letter in the serial number itself and not the model Series. Example: Selmer, Series 10S, B0478 is a B Series made in 1980. There is no definitive information available as to when particular types of instruments, such as Radio Improved, Model 55, Balanced Tone, etc., began insofar as serial number is concerned. Unlike some of the saxophone models, each clarinet is clearly marked as to its model, though I believe Ive seen a few exceptions in the clarinets of the late 1930s.
